We've grown to accept a lot of things we never would have before; commercials in streaming platforms we pay for, microtransactions in automobiles we've purchased or randomized, casino-style rewards in already-expensive video games, and plenty of other dirty business tactics.
Things that we know are pretty dirty. But there are a lot more otherwise "common" features of the modern marketplace that are, when you think about it, really scummy.

And on the provider end, your plan is delaying payment on claims so your 500-1000 dollar a month premium is just going into the pocket of the executives and shareholders instead of health care providers. And behavioral health claims get most of the abuse (just in case you were wondering why so many licensed psychotherapists opt out of accepting insurance)" - DetachmentStyles
