The celebrities have found out about elf on a shelf. And well, they did what they always do, they posted cringe. It all started when Garcelle Beauvais posted this meme with her on Pharell's shoulder, "Garcelle on a Pharell".

Elizabeth Banks was the first to respond, but instead of making herself the 'elf on the shelf', she found an elf 'for her shelf'. In doing so she strayed from the original meme and made herself the focus. I assume it was easier? Anyway, she responded with Hanks on a Banks. Now that's clever.

And from there, the gates of cringe had been opened. Every following post from the celebs mimicked the Elizabeth Banks post, not the Garcelle Beauvais one, which was probably a meme she found scrolling.

The worst part isn't the fact that celebrities are starved for attention, jumping on the backs of their peers to share some part in 'creating social trends', no the worst part is not a single one of these is clever or funny in the slightest way possible, well besides Mariah Carey.
