Michael J. Fox. In his autobiography, Fox revealed that one scene from Back to the Future 3 got a little too real. There's a scene where he was hung from a noose, but after a long day, they miscalculated how it was tied. He passed out, and no one noticed that he was unconscious for more than 30 seconds before they cut him down. Thankfully, he was okay.

Charlize Theron. While filming Aeon Flux, the Oscar winner landed awkwardly on her neck while performing a back flip during the filming. She almost broke her neck and herniated the disk between her third and fourth vertebrae. In other words, it was pretty damn serious.

Eminem. Struggling with a lifetime of demons, Marshall Mathers eventually had a drug overdose that almost killed him. Thankfully, the terrifying incident was what it took to get him clean, once and for all.

Joaquin Phoenix. After a stint in rehab, Phoenix unluckily got into a serious car accident, wherein his car flipped over several times. He said that while he was trapped in the car with no way to see, he heard a man's voice telling him to "just relax." He responded that he was relaxed, and the man said, "No, you're not." The mystery man also prevented him from lighting a cigarette, which may have caused an explosion. The biggest twist? The man in question was director Werner Herzog.

Anne Hathaway. Hathaway was swimming in Hawaii when a strong current beneath the surface took hold. She was seen struggling to keep herself above the water and began to shout for help, until an unidentified surface came and saved her life.

Sean Kingston. This singer had a terrible jet ski accident: His water vehicle collided with a bridge while going full speed. "As soon as I hit the bridge I got knocked out," Kingson said in an interview. "My face was in the water and that’s what crushed my lungs because I was getting in so much water.” He survived, but just barely.

George Clooney. In 2004, George Clooney was filming political-thriller Syriana and he actually broke his back He was bedridden and in excruciating pain for a long period of time, and at some points he said he was considering suicide. Luckily, he pulled through.

Johnny Depp. While scouting locations for The Rum Diaries, Depp and the director were flying in a private jet. Suddenly, the jet simply turned off, mid air. “There was silence. Bruce and I were looking at each other and I think I said, ‘Is this it?’ It was like this weird extended moment when you’re just floating for a second, and you could feel this unpleasant decent.” Miraculously, the plane simply started up again, and they landed safely.

Miles Teller. He was traveling from Connecticut to Florida, when suddenly the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car jumped three lanes of traffic and flipped eight times, before coming to a standstill. He was thrown from the car, and suffered a broken wrist, facial wounds, and got 20 staples in his shoulder.

Orlando Bloom. His near-death occurrence came when he climbed three stories up a drainpipe when suddenly it collapsed and he fell to the ground. He fractured his back in several places, and was told he'd never walk again. Luckily, that proved to be untrue.

Rachel Bilson. The O.C. star was actually pronounced dead after a devastating car accident. Bilson, who was only 16 at the time, was with friends when they crashed into another car. Luckily, after being pronounced dead, the emergency workers saw some sign of life and tried extra hard to revive her. It worked.

Seth MacFarlane. He was scheduled to return to Los Angeles on American Airlines Flight 11. He mixed up the time and arrived late, and that meant he had to take the next flight. Shortly after, Flight 11 was flown into the World Trade Center.

Mark Wahlberg. He was also supposed to be on Flight 11, but had a last-minute change of plans. He's pondered what it would have been like to be on the flight, saying “If I was on that plane with my kids, [9/11] wouldn’t have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.’”

50 Cent. The rapper and entrepreneur was famously shot nine times (some of which in the face) for trying to escape life in the drug trade. He was unable to walk or talk for six weeks, but somehow, he made it through. Shortly thereafter, he got his first record deal.

Travis Barker. He was leaving Columbia Metropolitan Airport in South Carolina when the plane malfunctioned. Four of the plane’s six passengers were killed in the tragedy. Travis, and fellow musician Adam Goldstein, were the only survivors. He had burns over 65% of his body, and he has said that the aftermath and survivor's guilt from the crash has made him feel like committing suicide in the past.

Leo DiCaprio. He was part of an underwater diving expedition, in Cape Town, South Africa when he got trapped in a shark cage, and was subsequently attacked by a shark. He was bitten, but survived. Interestingly, he was also in a plane crash in Russia, as well as escaping near death in a skydiving incident. This guy just might be invincible.
