News flash: Don’t set off fireworks near the massive animal!

A carnival in Thailand made the oldest mistake in the book: making a loud sound near a dangerous animal. As The Simpsons has taught us, animals really don’t like this — and as a result of their actions, a 10-year-old elephant got spooked and made its way through a crowd of people.

Thankfully, though some people were trampled, everyone ended up fine, and authorities have since a) banned elephants from future fairs; and b) detained the elephant’s keeper for failing to get proper permits.
