The bigger the piercing, the more likely it is to get caught on something. Talk to anyone with a lot of piercings, and they’ll happily tell you cringe-inducing stories about the time they almost ripped their ear off by taking off a beanie too fast, or how their lip ring accidentally locked onto something they were eating and caused a trip to the hospital.

In this case, a woman had a nose ring and leaned against a chair with holes in it — resulting in a whole ordeal that required the fire department to fix.
